The love for good audio is not limited to a few of us here, but its global. Here are some of the folks that I have recorded on the air and have good audio. I will be adding more links here ...
Here is a sample of EI9JF (Nick) before and after a few tweaks to his audio
I keep constantly changing my audio settings, rather its more appropriate to tweaking them. I enjoy the variations and the balances that a turn of knob on one side could do to the audio chain
PEQ Settings
This is one of the most important settings in your entire audio chain. The image shows you one of my PEQ settings. I keep varying the filters from time to time. The filters really need to be set based on your voice. You should use an audio spectrum software and take a look at the curves. Even more so, listen to yourself or ask your wife, family or friend to listen to your playback and see if you sound natural but with a rich sounding audio.
Downward Expander I try to keep my studio as quiet as possible. Its however hard to damp down the noise of the amplifier fan etc. I dont run the Air-Conditioner at all
But in the winter, my studio has a propane heater that makes quite a racket. So here comes the downward expander. With a fine balance on the pre-amp, I am able to eliminate all of these noise and out comes a nice clean audio. Its unbelievable when the downward expander is turned on and turned off.
